Have you ruined your Metabolism?
In today's video I go over the 4 most common mistakes people make when training their metabolisms to become fat-burning machines!
Mistake #1) Not Eating Enough Food: We all have a basal metabolic rate (a minimum amount of calories we need to survive) and including our daily activity each day, there is a bare minimum amount of calories you should be eating to feel and thrive at your best. Eating too little food can confuse your metabolism and make fat loss harder when you eventually do start eating your calorie needs.
Mistake #2) Eating Too Much Food: Obviously eating too much food can cause weight gain, but what's worse is that it can speed up your metabolism and make your body think that this much food will be available all the time. Then when you eventually correct the imbalance and start eating the right amount you'll think you're starving and your metabolism will slow down to account for the "shortage".
Mistake #3) Eating the Wrong types of Foods: I fell for all of the wrong foods in the beginning. I bought all the junk foods that claim to be "fit" "healthy" or "lite" when I really should have been eating REAL WHOLE FOODS. Be especially carefully with sugar-free foods because they trick your metabolism into thinking it's getting sweets when it's really not.
Mistake #4) Infrequent Eating: When you yo-yo with your eating, you're likely to also yo-yo with your weight. This is hard on the metabolism and can lead to frustration.
You'll know that you have metabolic damage when you've corrected all of these mistakes and STILL have a hard time losing weight. But don't worry, the solution is simple. -> Have patience. I know it's not easy, but you'll have to trust me. The best thing you can do right now is have patience and stay on course. Eat the right amount of calories at the right frequency and of the right types of foods. Once you metabolism re-sets you'll be glad you did.
