Are you Counting Calories the Wrong Way??
As we know, counting your calories and macros is an incredibly helpful tool when you have a weight loss or body transformation goal. However, there are some very common mistakes people tend to make with counting that can lead to confusion, frustration and eventually giving up on the whole process. Here are the 4 most common mistakes we see:
Mistake #1 - Counting Vegetable Calories and Carbs - Veggies are so low in calories and so high in fiber that their net cals and carbs are negligible. Plus if there's any food to over eat on it should be veggies! You will not get fat no matter how many veggies you eat, just watch out for the starchy ones like potatoes and be carefully with portions of oils/fats they may be combined with. Focus on fibrous vegetables, like cucumber, celery, lettuce, zucchini, green & watery ones!
Mistake #2 - Obsessing over calories and macros. Living lean is about having fun, playing with different spices and flavors. You do not have to be exact about your numbers, the goal is to have a general plan and follow it long-term. Don't worry about having a perfect day every day in a row, look at the overall picture
Mistake #3 - Counting everything you ate towards the end of the day after it's all happened and it's too late to correct. You need to plan ahead if you want to space apart your calories and hit your daily goals.
Mistake #4 - Failing to Adjust for changing goals. When you are successful at reaching your goals, your goals will change
